I have already put this up in the separates section. Also tried a search to little avail.

Just wondered if anybody had the above combination/first hand knowledge/views on the equipment.

My local dealer has offered me the two for £250, with Rotel 2 year warranty etc. It seems a reasonable price even though the models are a couple of years old now.

I am going to dem them tommorow so any info would be appreciated. Some of the mag reviews say the power amp is very good but the pre amp is the weak link when the volume gets turned up??

    thx

as you say the rb 971mk 11 has a good reputation
as a power amp for the price i dont think you can go wrong
i paid £175 just for the power amp
the power amps can be used in stereo or mono mode
    which is even better

    Cheers ph

Had already read them that is why I asked the forum just in case anybody had them. As stated by most of the reviewrs the pre-ap seems to let the package down.

Just off to demo now so will let you know on my return

    Cheers

I always thought MT was that you carried out several different tasks at the same time that 'related to work' :D Must be nice being your own boss, methinks I'll have to have a chat with the powers 'that be' re your commitment and work ethic young man!!

Anyhoo, back to more serious matters just demo'd said equipment and was pleasantly suprised. The pre-amp did begin to shown signs of strain but that was with the volume cranked at around 12 on the dial which absolutely filled the back demo room.

Very clear and defined, excellent separation really put some power out after warming up for a few minutes. Used a set of Q3's to simulate mine only problem was he didn't have a 370 to do a comparison.
