    Hi,

I've just bought & set up the above combination.

Whilst I'm reasonably happy with the results having bi-amped & bi-wired, I'm a little dissapointed with the bass response. I accept that the PMC's are going to sound quite neutral and may improve once bedded in.

    I'm wondering:

Is there really enough power to drive the PMC's properly? (2x70w LF & 2x40w HF)

Should I, and would I cause damage by swapping the LF & HF amps to the speakers?

Any thoughts appreciated. I'm using an Arcam CD73 cd player too.

How old are the DB1's? They start of live really tight and take at least 30 hours running in before they start to produce. ;)

Thanks for the reply, they're brand new.

Since I posted, I've had them on over the weekend for about 15 hours and I have to say that the sound quality has improved 110%!!!!

I'm much happier now, although I still have concerns about the amp combination.

You really should be trying to match the power of the amps, as at least one part (LF or HF) is going to suffer.

I used to have an RB-03 and must admit that it is bass-lite (then again, it only cost £280). Still a very good power amp for the money, in terms of musicality and driving ability.

Really should have no problems with the PMC's at all.
