Your welcome to come down the M1 and hear mine in Nottingham.

You could go and visit Superfi while down here......

    Heres a pic -

Going to retail in the States at $1,700 so would expect a price here around the £1,200 mark. Specs look good too.

And here's a link if anyone wants more information -

I also read somewhere that it will have PLIIx as standard although this is not mentioned in the press release.

If you can hang on may be worth waiting.

But my god why couldnt they change the look of it. From those pictures I cant see a difference between that and the 1066?

The 1098 looks rather tasty, IMHO, why couldnt they make it look more like that with a less complex screen.

Yup it looks similar to the 1066 which to be honest I didnt like the look of. But surely for £1,200 you cant want a screen as well !!

Also if you zoom in to the rather dodgy pic in the link you will notice the word "Bypass"

No not the same sort of screen but an upgrade of the 1066 display (which really isnt up to much) that fits in the same place as the TFT, cough waste of money, in the 1098.

Sorry I should have said Display! :)

Thanks for your kind offer. I actually managed to find somewhere that had both products in stock. They were also willing to give me a demo, but there was a slight snag! Upon calling the company back after freeing up some time to book a demo I was in formed by a sheepish salesman that he had blown up the 1075 upon installing it into the demo room. I won't name the company to save them blushing. Typical!!!!!!

Well back to the drawing board.... I wonder if it's worth waiting at this stage for the new model. Does anyone know when it's going to be available?

Below is a pic of the 1068. Due here April, and will include DTS 96/24.

I tried the 1098 to go with my 1075, but the dealer demo one picked up a huge amount of mains interference. If the second one I try doesn't do this, I'll have it (great SQ, and I can try and ignore that waste of time and money screen). If it's the same story with the interference, I'll wait for the 1068...
