I hope this works it's the first time i've tried to imbed from Flickr :)

I was in Cornwall during the first week of June and the weather played nice for me. I took over 800 photos and think I got around 100 good ones. I have to say even though you can't tell i'm in Cornwall this was one of my favourite shots. I'm still only a beginner - and that week convinced me I need to buy a quality zoom lense and maybe a macro

Anyway I hope you like, comments and crit welcome

    Only a beginner - tosh! :D

Liking this photo - very vibrant, good colours, and the dof for me works pretty well, but I confess I am a fan of these "subject over here..." shots.

One minor critique - could have cropped to just the edge of the farthest, out of focus (complete) rose, to lose that distracting bit of blue sky and tighten up the shot a bit more.

The bug has bit - lens nightmares begin....

    Cheers :)

Now you've mentioned the crop I've realised that I could have lowered the shot a ml or two and brought the whole left rose into view.

Ah well, just wish I had the time to head back to Padstow to retry the photo! :rotfl:

Nobody else has any comments on it?

I agree with Antpink I think a tighter crop would be nicer, but I think I would have framed the shot with the in focus flower in a bit more from the left hand side. Maybe even a portrait shot of those two?

I did get a few shots of the rose bush but didn't think too much on them, this first one could be more like what you were talking about?
