The lead will help with lag, and enable you to send the signal to a better option than tiny telly speakers. It won't help with the buzzing as that is emanating from the guitar. When you say it starts buzzing as soon as Rocksmith has loaded a song, all that is telling you is that RS has selected a particular "tone" for that song. Depending on how high-gain that tone is will reflect upon how much buzzing you get. If you're playing a metal-type song then expect ultra high-gain plus loads of buzzing. As stated earlier, the buzzing diminishes as the quality of the guitar rises. Plus, chuck in single-coil or humbuckers into the mix. That's why I suggested maybe seeing if you could try another guitar, to put your mind at rest. And then there are good leads and bad leads too, lol.

    nope xbox.

Do amps have toslink connections? Could i connect up with that instead of buying another cable (not that £1.59 is going to break the bank but i have a spare 5 metre toslink cable i could use)

No, some have 3.5 connectors for mp3 input, but mostly just 3/4".

Do you have an av amp or a half-decent stereo you could bang it through? For Rocksmith purposes I whack my guitar through a decent iPod dock, which sports a 3.5mm aux in. It sounds great.

ive got a couple of amps but not one in the room where the xbox is. I could connect up to one if needs be though.

Volume isnt a problem, the TV speakers are actually pretty good. Its more being able to hear what im playing as i have to turn the guitar right down in th emixer to avoid the feedback/buzzing. If i can suss that out it will be fine.

Dont think a guitar amp is going to help either by the sounds of it. I need to try and solve the buzzing problem (and no not yet before any of you suggest a new guitar!)

Maybe you could make sure that the guitar volume knob is full up when you initially calibrate it in the tuner section, and then just throttle the knob back a bit during play. Shouldn't need the emixer tool that way.

DLC hint for next week from Paul Cross via twitter

and next week is super awesome! People are gonna go nuts!
trust me. It'll be more than ace. ;-)

Lots of speculation it's Ace Of Spades and a Maiden 5 pack, but we've been down this road before and got a Fallout Boy 5 pack and Nickleback :rotfl:

    We shall see.

I am not so sure a Maiden pack would be good news after the SOTW...

    Ace Frehley

Could be totally off the wall and be something by Ace - How Long, or something like that?

Well as it's Ace and ACE was the guitarist in said band that's my inspired guess
So I'll either look completely marvelous or a right tit
    I know which it'll be :)

I'm not a big Kiss fan although a couple tracks would ok
    I guess there'll be a 5 pack
And a 5 pack for around a month
Maybe. Iron maiden, weezer, leppard and led zep. I added that in case anyone from zep is reading this thread and feels sorry for us

Back to the days of 3,2,1 and dusty bin with dodgy verbal connections.

    In a Ted Rogers voice.

"We said it'd be more than Ace. If you go phonetically, then more than aayycceee would be aayyycceeedeeeccceeee. Yes, you've won tonight's star prize. A 5 pack DLC from AC/DC."

    I can dream, can't I?

Using similar but completely different logic "MORE THAN ace" is the first two words of More Than Words which is an Extreme song, so therefore it is obvious to all that it will be an Extreme pack.

Of course as much as I would like to see some Extreme songs they are likely to be as impossible, if not more so, than the Trooper...

actually i think you'll find that the phrase "more than ace" has at least 2 letters from the word maggot in it.

This therefore must mean that the DLC is clearly

    Goldie Looking Chain

    Guns dont Kill People

To be 'more than ace' would mean 'Faces' as in Stay With Me! Now That's What I Call Music!

Think you got it Tone, it's a five pack from Now That's What I Call Music 597 or whatever we're up to now.

God, I feel old, remember buying the first one when it came out :)

If you have number 4 on CD, you could just get yourself another part of the Dream rig. Sells for £300+

Also stick to pickup position 2 in calibration and generally in Rocksmith. As you don't have an amp you may not have realised the benefits of position 2 and 4 for hum cancelling (dual pickups)

Rocksmith has noise cancelling but it has to know how noisy the guitar is, touching the strings earths as bilbo says hence the above is worth a shot.

You wanting to plug into an guitar amp or an av amp?
