After six rounds of the Song of the Week under @Goooner's admirable administration, he's past the baton to me so we'll start afresh with a new thread.
For anyone who is not familiar with the Song of the Week (SOTW) competition, it's just a bit of fun whereby we pick a song to play in Rocksmith every week. Anyone who wants to join can post their scores and at the end of each week the results are posted. The songs are picked on Friday and run for 9 days until the Sunday week at midnight UK time. Results are posted on Monday morning. NB this means that over the weekend there are two active songs.
Regular players get a chance to pick their choice of song, and each round consists of one pick for everyone involved. A new thread is posted (by me) for each song in this forum, and each player should post ONE MESSAGE ONLY and edit it as your scores improve. Scores are counted for one guitar track (at the choice of the picker, although usually it's the lead track) and the bass track for anyone who wants to play bass as well / instead. Since there is the odd song without a bass track, please make sure that your pick does have bass.
Rules....not too many of them. The most important rule is that all of this is played in a friendly and informal spirit, so there is no cause for any arguments or squabbles, please. We trust the scores that are posted, but feel free to post a screenshot of a score that you're particularly proud of (we often post 100% scores).
The scores are the percentages as shown in the Learn A Song section of the game, generally with Master Mode switched OFF so that 100% is the maximum possible score. If someone really wants, we can turn Master Mode on for a particular song.
Songs may be chosen from original Rocksmith, Rocksmith 2014 or official DLC. Custom DLC which is only available for the PC version is not allowed, since many of us play on consoles.
This thread will be used for general discussion about the SOTW competition, and these first couple of posts will be the reference point - this one for the rules, and post #2 for the round and song choices. I will try to remember to update this post with the current week's song.
For ready reference, here are links to the previous two incarnations of the SOTW:
