The setup has gone to next stage now, with the Pioneer VSX and Optoma HD70.

Attatched is a picture of its current state. More can be seen at end of thread.

Just deciding on speakers to get!

Superb set up Rob and all very neatly put together - love the up to date picture of the football tonight, your PC could have had the AVForums home page showing! :smashin:

Gotta love the Tosh 32WLT66!

Is this what is called a fully functional babe lair?

Thanks for the comments guys, your setup sounds pretty mean pinoeerman (you posted pics) I will take a look around tomorrow :)

Abbeygoo - The Tosh is defo very good suits me to the ground. The only thing I would want to change at the moment would be to buy a decent amp and speakers. Think I'm gonna just have to make do though. If I manage to sort out a decent picture with the led's on behind the TV I will post that.

Sorry to disappoint by not having the AV homepage on my monitor.

Cheers inzaman. Yes it is a loft conversion. There is also an en-suite at the back with a good view of the TV from both shower and toilet which is always a good addition :smashin:

Very nice indeed Rob! All looks very tidy :).

I'd echo the point made above that it is screaming out for a pojector and big screen to be added :).

Great job though and nicely decorated.:smashin:

Yeah I wish I had the money for all that - but I guess even if I did have the cash. I prob wouldn't bother until I get my own place. Thanks for the comments. Glad you feel it was decorated nicely. Buying the paint, blinds and new carpet etc came to as much as the TV :(

Indeed, it's always a toss up of what to get, but it's very good how it is. It's something to consider for the future though and Projectors can be picked up pretty cheap. I have a Sanyo Z3 which cost me about £850 a year or two back and they can be picked up 2nd hand for probably around the £400 mark with a decent life bulb. I need an amp and a decent set of speakers (just run a Sony Dav all in one at the moment) but it comes down to having the pennies! Hopefully later this year i'll be able to afford an upgrade. Can certainly understand waiting until you get your own place before you add further to your setup as you don't know what your new place will be like or even how feasible a projector would be there.

Having a nicely decorated room with decent furniture is just as important as a nice TV IMO as after all you need to feel relaxed and comfortable when watching the TV, playing games, watching films etc., otherwise it detracts from the overall experience.

This is very true, the TV setup wasn't the first thing I done as there were other things such as the new bed and other furniture that I wanted first. The room has to be tidy/organised for me to feel relaxed and therefore wouldn't enjoy playing games, watching TV as much if it wasn't tidy. That to me CAS FAN sounds like a poll - to see whether or not everyone else has to be playing games/watching TV to fully enjoy the experience. I always thought I was slightly strange!

To be honest Rob, I think that a lot of folk on here will put just as much thought into the decor, seating, floor covering, storage solutions, wire concealment etc. as their actual equipment so you're certainly not strange. I must say that I curently just have a lounge setup and as we have a youngster the room is often rather untidy so isn't ideal really. That said, we've got a nice comfortable reclining leather sofa and matching reclining armchair and my actual setup is pretty tidy so it's not too bad.

Yeah mate, got the skins from decalgirl.com I would recomend them. Have you got the HD-Drive as well? If so that was a bit of a challenge to get all black. It doesn't come with a black skin for the front (grey) bit. So I used the vinyl made for the bottom of the drive and cut it to size with a stanely knife :lesson: (not the easiest task, but well worth it). Hope that helps.

Cheers mate. i've not got the HD Drive so that wont be an issue. How easy was it to fit to the 360? Also, whats the finish like?

    Cool website btw.

They are easy enough to fit with a little pit of patience. Like I said, the HD drive was the only real issue.

I wasn't sure about the covers either to start with either. But what I do know is I prefer it being black to what it was before. Good way of customising the 360 without voiding the warranty

Photo's don't do it much justice as they actualy have an excellent finnish and plenty of people that have seen it didn't believe me when I said that it was basicaly a high quality sticker.

Thats brilliant, I was going to order the replacement shell but was too nervous. The skins look like a great alternative though. Found a site in the uk selling them for £10.99 too.

Very nice setup Rob. Can I ask what you think of the Samsung HT-Q20R?
Im thinking of buying one this weekend as Ive been after a good affordable Home Theatre system for ages but from the specs on comet / Dixons website it says it doesnt have optical input / output, how do you connect your 360 to it?

    cheers :)

Yeah I connect it up to my Sky box and my 360. Although it isn't true 5.1 (due to lack of optical) I still think that it provides very good sound through all speakers and would strongly recommend this product.

It doesnt have the optical input but i've linked my 360 to the TV using the component and then the TV to the home cinema with an RGB scart and phono plugs. You can select the Prologic option on the HC and it will play the 360, TV and DVDs etc through all 5 speakers. Works a treat if you ask me.

    Hope that helps.

    thanks.

Thanks for the help Rob, much appreciated :)

Looks like Im going to buy one at the weekend then :)
I have seen the new Samsung HTTX35R with optical input but the speakers are just way too large, there's no way my wife would allow those in the living room :(

Update: Now I got all next gen consoles thought I would post in an update. But before I do, also thought I would an include a slightly older pic of the setup from another angle (thought I had done so before).
