The R2 will probably be cut, so go for uncut R1 version.

The original Warner release of this title was dreadful. The transfer was awful and not anamorphic. The soundtrack was stereo and there was no sign of any extras.
It's good to hear that Warner's have revisited this title, which for all its flaws I have always enjoyed.
The star of this film for me was Alan Rickman as the sheriff. Superb performance which stole the show from Cosner. I always thought it a little odd that Kevin Reynolds casted Cosner for the role with a US accent.
I'd love to see Warners release the Adventures of Robin Hood, which starred of course Eroll Flynn & Olivia de Havilland. It's a shame that a classic film hasn't been released when other less deserving back catalog titles have appeared.

The DTS track is worse than the 5.1 mix on this disc. The dialogue seems to be a bit muted.

Great to see this film uncut, although the new scenes do make the film drag a little.

thats strange from the 2 reviews i read they say the DTS track is much better, they say there not much to choose from on vocals but the DTS is much better when the music kicks in

yes but remember that DVDFile were extolling the virtues of the dts soundtrack in their review of the spec ed of Groundhog Day...

Much as I like the site, their DVD reviews always seem to use the same descriptions when they are comparing dts to DD 5.1

having just watched the new extended version,i agree its still not the best print for a 90s film!!!!But my main concern is that the dts soundtrack is out of sync for six chapters near the end(36-42)Once again this totaly ruins the point of buying it for the dts(i like it:p )The DD soundtrack is good, but that is not the point!!surely someone has spotted this or have you not watched it until the end yet?
I have tried this disc on two dvd players(88+,735dsony)and also on a portable,so i know its not the amp or dvd players fault!!why oh why do studio's bother putting on extra soundtracks,if they dont do it properly?
Please tell me if im the only one with this fault or does no one care?
