One of the very few politicians that I have respect for.

Yes its a shame I thought he was one of the old guard that never was never New Labour and did not sell his soul like some others.
Always great to see him on Question Time. A sad loss.

One of the few to stick to his beliefs over the Iraq war and very intelligent and honest as well, there's not many politicians you can say that about.

I saw the tribute that John Prescott offered, on the news. Rarely have I seen anything that looked and sounded less sincere.

How I dislike that man, compared to Robin Cook, for whom I had great respect, I didn't always agree with him, but he was a man of principle and worthy of respect for that and many of his other qualities.

He will be sadly missed, politicians like him are a rapidly vanishing species.

I can't believe that Blair isn't going to the funeral, after all he went to Ted Heath's funeral so why not this one.

Because Blair is politically nearer to Heath than to Cook

Typical Blair - every word he utters is a cynical attempt to decieve.

Robin Cook was one of the very few MP's I would actually stop and listen to in interveiws

    - of course the Dead Ringers impressions always had me in stitches

Are you sure? I would have said Heath was to the left of Blair.............. ;)

Once again it's Blairs bad grace showing. Cook defied him over Iraq so he snubs the funeral. Any other offers?

Yes that would be my take on things and Blair should be ashamed of himself if that is the case. Even someone as stubborn as Brian Clough went to the funeral of Peter Taylor after their much publicised falling out.
My guess is that if there's a lot of negative publicity surrounding him not going to the funeral we may see him there yet.
