I'm being driven insane waiting for delivery of my Tosh 46WH08B from Robert Whyte!

I was initially given the figure of 7-10 days for delivery, which then jumped to 'around 3 weeks' when I rang them last week. They charged my credit card immediately, despite not even having a confirmed delivery date, which I find highly irregular.
And despite me prompting them, I still haven't had any form of order confirmation through the post (as this transaction was done over the phone, not over the net).

Searching on this forum shows that someone by the name of 'Hammers' received a tv from Robert Whyte within a few days.
Can anyone else put my mind at rest, and confirm that they actually received their goods within a reasonable period from this company?

    Regards,

    porritta

 Sorry to hear your news...I nearly ordered
the same model after reading lots of reasonbably good comments in this forum.

Phoned up Robert Whyte and they quoted a 3-4
weeks for delivery. They assured me Toshiba had i
t in stock yet couldn't explain why it would take
nearly 30 days to deliver it..

After I'd called around 4 or 5 other AV shops e.g
Hi-Spek, Sound & Vision, RGB ( all advertised in
Home Cinema Choice ) I realised a pattern was emerging...Toshiba have just launched a new
    range ( WH18b ) which supercedes the ( WH08b) models..

The new model is silver and comes in ( I think )
42" and 50" replacing the older 46 and 56" models respectively..Someone please tell me to shut up if I
    wrong here !!

Toshiba could NOT guarantee ANY deliveries on the
46"who8b according to the shops I asked. It would
appear that Toshiba is not making the model anymore
and any sets for sale have already been manufactured.

For what it's worth, Sound & Vision ( Bolton ) gave
me the best price of all dealers on the new 50" model.
George ( a fellow Scot )was very helpful. It arrives this
week so I'll let you all know the good and bad points...

    Cheers

    Ged

    Thanks for the info.
I spoke to a chap at Toshiba (by ringing the 'how to tune your video' helpline...), who said that he believed that the model was being phased out as of 2 months ago.
    He couldn't confirm anything though.

However, after another phone call to Robert Whyte it seems my TV is ready and waiting!

Just waiting for Tosh to call me back and arrange delivery.

Hi spek told me they had them in stock at their own wharehouse. Should be delivering mine in the morning.

I've taken a days holiday so they better be telling the truth.
