Robert Whyte - How good service

    Has any one bought from RW - how good is there service and after sales care if need?
    It seems thst a lot of people get JL to price match RW.
    Is there a reason that people don't buy from RW-poor service ?
    Surly it would be much easier to just place the order with RW then waiting for JL to price match.

    Bought mine from there early December. They were always helpful when I rang or e-mailed and it was delivered when they said it would be. They were sluggish sending out the receipt but did respond to my query and explained that in the run up to Crimbo they just ran out of hands to complete the paperwork.

    Only one query since, again relating to paperwork for the 5 year warranty (I was expecting something from a third party etc) when all they do is state on the receipt that it has a 5 year warranty. They explained to me that I didn't need to ring a third party, any problems just contact them and they'd sort it all out.

    If you want a progress check, you have to contact them as their website doesn't show when items are to be despatched. However, very friendly on the phone and via e-mail. I'd use them again with no worries.

    Got my Blu-Ray from them - waited the 2 weeks they told me it would probably be in by -rang them , they had it ,sent it out.
    No problems -would recommend them.

    I got JL to price match Robert Whyte when buying my new LCD TV, only because JL offer a 5 year warranty as standard. I have never used RW so can't comment on the service from them.

    I think it's just that many people feel it would be easier dealing with a local store if anything went wrong.

    I got my 40w4500 and Bluray player direct from Robert Whyte and would happily recommend them. Communcation is excellent and prices are keen.

    Sorry to hijack this thread but I'm looking to do a price match with JL and was wondering if they display all the tvs they show on their website in their store?

    Just ordered a telly from Robert Whyte.

    Within a minute I got a call from a Glasgow number saying it was out of stock, it would take a week to a week and a half to be in stock and did i want to cancel (given that the Olympics starts on Friday week).

    I cancelled, but otherwise great service.

    Does anyone know if Robert Whyte has closed down? I can't find any information anywhere.
    Their website no longer exists, neither does their telephone number!

    I tried finding their site as well but failed. Previously bought tvs from them but couldnt track anything down last week.
