Watched this today on rental DVD.

What a great film. Only got it out as all the copies of Donnie Darko were out. :D

Great atmosphere, great music, great gun battles (sub workout) and great acting.

    Recommended. :smashin:

    Cheers

I'm in two minds wether to get this or not  This topic has made it worse so i think i'll leave it.

Donnie Darko seems to be a popular film though so i might get that :)

    I really enjoyed Road ...

I thought it was a great film with superb performances throughout

It is a very dark film and one which you need to be in the mood for

I think the movie was dull an unexciting, not to mention the ending, although I must admit that I didn't expect it to end that bad.

was a let down for me. It did not grip me in any way. Sure it looked great, but the graphic novel it sourced also looked great.

I cant help but think that Sam Mendes needed something special after American Beauty, but in Road to perdition he over egged the pudding, although it did look nice.

The one thing that did impress me was the way Tom Hanks acted. He did not need to use violence or words to portay his unhappiness and angst, you could feel it from his character.

Overall, too slow for me really.

    Thanks,

    CB.

I enjoyed this one, it's a slow paced film but I think it's all the better for it... :)

Yes, liked this film a lot. Started a little slowly, but a very enjoyable film. As mentioned above, a very fine performance from Mr. Hanks.

Just watched it, very predictable story line, good photography but the sound is quite poor in my opinion, If you want to hear a good sound track try MIB2.

Watchable but not worth buying. Excellent sound especially when he goes to the nightclub to deliver the letter. Vel HGS18 nearly demolished the room

yes, but would you recommend the film? its awful!!! woeful!!! most of us that have been on this forum a while and HC fans have made the mistake of buying a film for its soundtrack only, not even a good sound track could gt me to buy MIB2

I thought the sound track quality was better than MIB2, whether or not its to peoples tastes is another matter. As for the film, I would highly recommend it, it's a good film (Road to Pedition, not MIBII).

I loved this film and I disagree with all the criticism of Tom Hanks who I thought was very good.

I enjoyed the film. I bought the film without seeing it before and I'm glad I did. Great acting, great picture and great sound (region 1 DTS). Don't expect a film with a ton of action as it's a slow paced film but well worth buying.

I rented it and watched in on a stereo TV only, so can't really comment on the pic and sound but the movie was quite good me thinks. Not that fast yet enough action to keep me entertained.
Won't buy it on DVD but it's definetely worth seeing.
