Trying to get these three in the same place at once is proving more difficult than I originally anticipated...

With this in mind, which of the three would forum members recommend as the best sounding, bearing in mind my listening is ever-so-slightly biased towards musical performance, with movie sound remaining a high priority.

Rotel, by a whisker. You will be chuffed with any of them. You may even prefer the Denon.

The Rotel is looking favourite at the moment :).

I was hugely impressed by the RMB-1075, but it certainately seems the RSP-1066 isn't the most competent processor - at least in comparison to those found in the One Box amps (the absence of THX Certification is also a downer).

True that the Rotel RSP 1066 doesnt have a lot of the "bells and whistles" that most of thr bigger $$ recievers do,BUT, what it does do I does very well.I recently upgrades to a Rotel RSX 1055 reciever from a Harmon Kardon AVR 520.The Rotel doesnt have much in the way of DSP's and such that the HK has.But as far as sound and build quality, the Rotel just smokes the HK.I still have and like the HK,but it is in a different class than the Rotel.

Isnt that a bit of an unfair comparision as the two integrated amp - especially the denon are much more expensive than the rotel combo.

I mean for the price of Denon you could probably get a 1066/1095 after a bit of haggling.

Not really - I've seen the AVC-A1SR for £2100-ish new, and the Rotel combo for £1800 new, and the Pioneer for £2000 new, so it's a fair comparison really :).

Dimmy - you can get a 1095 for £1500 - the chap who sold me his one gave me a receipt from Superfi for that amount - and a 1066 for £850 so that makes £2350.

I remember when I was looking for gear a dealer offered me a Rotel 1066 and 1075 for £1550 - so there is bit of a difference.

There's a chap selling his AV32R BP192 with warranty in the classifieds forum for about the £1600 mark. This together with a new 1075 for £750ish would come to £2350 - I personally would put my money on this but you may not be into second hand gear.

    Regards
    Rags

I'm all for Second Hand gear, but with something this expensive my mind would be put at great ease to know that I've bought something from new and it comes with a warranty if it F**Ks up.

And I'd love to know which dealer offered you the Rotel combo for £1550.

    Hello

I am about to demo the same Rotel combo (1066 & 1075) at Sevenoaks on Wednesday. They said the best price they can do it for is £1800. If rags could let me know the name of his dealer, that would be great.

    Cheers

    Rob

    Dimmy,

    When I went looking I demoed :-

    Demon A11SR
    Pioneer AX10i
    Rotel RSP1066/RMB1075

I found the Rotel to be so much clearer and better defined than the others.

Not sure how the A1SR will compare with the Rotel combo but should be an interesting session :D

I was so happy that I bought it there and then ! The biggest decision was a choice between black and silver !

I found that the people that I dealt with to very human and as long as you talk to them nicely and not demand anything you should get a good discount. Normally best to bring it up after the demo, then if they don't make you happy they see you walk out the door and they've wasted all their effort !

I managed to get a similar price that rags got offered with cables to link them together.

    Regards

    Ian L.
