.rm files? ram files?

    Recently I donwloaded some video files that are in the form of .rm and others in .ram form

    Can anyone tell me how to access these files? window media cant read them so im just wondering what i need to do to read these files. any help appreciated!

    I'm not 100% sure and you'll have to wait for an adult to log on for the full answer but......

    Isn't that an old mac file format. I seem to remember having the same problem some time ago now and basically just gave up. Windows media player doesn't support them but real player might. it was at that point that I gave up. Just how many media players did I need for goodness sake.

    PS you could do a google search on .ram and see what turns up.

    aren't they realplayer files?

    yep real media/real player files.

    Thanks guys. I downloaded real player 10 and now I can see the files.

    The is also a less bulkiy program than real player called real alternative, which will allow playback of these files through media player, and also MCE.

    yeah, real alternative (and quicktime alternative) are much better than the bloated realplayer.
