Seeing as allders are going into administration and having a bumper 70% off would people risk buying a plasma from allders? Could be worth risking getting a 435xde for around £1000!!

What would be the situation with a warranty? Do you get a 1 year from pioneer? Can you buy a warranty on a product like a plasma from another company?
Obviously you have no come back to allders as they are in administration.

Yes a lot of companies do it. Usually HiFi companies.
Its all legal and above board. You will need your receipt though for alot of them.

Hehehe...I think anyone -seriously- thinking theyre gonna sell £3k kit for £1k
needs a stark lesson in Business Studies 101...

Administration means the opposite, i.e, make as much money as you can not
compound the issue and sell kit for less than you bought it for!!!

    Dear oh dear...

So if the idea is to make as much money as possible when you go into administration the goal must be to shift as much stock as possible. You wont be able to shift plasmas at full price. You wont be able to shift it with a small discount as people have no direct come back to allders so the only way to shift all their stock is to offer a big enough discount to make people take the risk.

Realistically they wont be selling a £3K for £1K but I would expect to see a discount, maybe £2K???

You guys have no idea about retail margins. Maybe we should publish the trade prices, then you'd all feel sorry for us. £2k is still way under cost, there's no way any Pio XDE that isn't stolen will ever be £2k new.

When Rumbelows decided to shut up shop I picked up a Toshiba 28" for 75% off, so it is not unheard of to get very large disciunts particularly as they will be trying to raise as much money as possible and clear the warehouses.
But make sure teh stock is on site and yeou can pick it up there and then.

Always thought it was 30% minimum you guys made.
IS the Pioneer who make all the money then.
My arguement is Onkyo Sp1000 DVD player, boought it in Hong Kong, shipped, duty paid back in UK approx 1400, Uk price 2800 !

Not on plasma, margins are tiny. That Onkyo was a monster bargain in HK, way below my buy in price I can assure you! In fact I could probably fly to HK to buy the next one I sell!
