Following kit was used for all photos

1Dmk2n + 500mm f4 IS L USM + 1.4xII + Gitzo 1348 + Kirk King Cobra.

I will put a few more up when I get a bit of spare time

Thanks, Pete.

It was a Superb 7 days surfing.
Just the small task of processing around 3000 pics (thats after they have been sorted)
 
We tried to head down to Fistral last Monday but it was just too busy.
Some fabulous shots there Mark :smashin:

What shutter speeds do you generally use for these? - the waves look really good.

I used a shutter speed of 1/640 or 1/800 for most of them.

I set my camera to TV (shutter priority) and selected either 1/640 or 1/800 and that would give me a decent DOF at arount f7.1 - f11 depending on what conditions were at the time. AISERVO (fast setting) was also selected so I could constantly track the surfer (note when using aiservo a lot it will use battery power up very fast) and 8fps shooting speed.

A nice steady tripod and a nice smooth well balanced head so you dont need to support the camera.

final point enjoy your days shooting
