Just came across this for £184.99, keep trying to pull the trigger and buy one but getting put off by the price and wondering if a new version is coming out...

Think at this price I can't say no..

unless you have a really really good WiFi signal where you intend to position this you probably need to factor in another £40-50 for a Ring Chime Pro

even at the lowest sensitivity setting my two keep getting motion alerts and recordings triggered by raindrops

unless you subscribe to the Ring Protect plan at £2.50 per month per camera to save recordings for 30 days it is all but useless

Thanks for your opinion, the review here seems pretty good..

      Ring Floodlight Cam Review

I've read plenty of users that love them including on this site and I've just got a stick up cam battery and think it's very good. Shame you didn't like yours. £2.50 a month is not even the price of a coffee these days so I can swallow that :)

      Yeah I've read the review
installed in April with no issues until this month
I can only go by personal experience and waking up in the morning to a dozen clips of raindrops triggering motion passing in front of the lens is sort of pointless
Supports answer is to keep powering down and powering up or reinstall the camera
rinse and repeat until you get fed up with their patronising emails
but hey if that works for you go for it

Im not too impressed with mine either, If im at home it works ok although I would like the option to snooze the sensor for more than 2 hours. If im away from home, its pretty awful taking way too long to connect when I get an alert, often not connecting at all. I have a nest doorbell at the front of the house and this works almost perfectly, even though its twice as far from my router as the Ring.

Yes the latency between asking to view and getting a connection is useless
if motion was triggered by a person they are well gone before you see an image
that's with an upload speed of 7 Mbps which is 3.5 times the 2 Mbps minimum required

As for audio well you can forget ever having a meaningful conversation with anyone and all that also applies to the Ring doorbell pro as well
