    Like him or not it won't be the same without Richie Benaud.

    I heard him say at Trent Bridge it was gonne be his last visit there as a commentator.... :(

    He'll be certainly be missed.

    A fitting match on which to end his career. He's been a very commentator for so many years now I shudder to think when he started. Good on him!

    The most knowledgeable commentator of all. He also knows when to shut up (unlike M.Nicholas). On a more positive note, the bus-and-pigeon obsessed Blofeld is off the Test Match Special radio team for the Oval match.

    Two bits of bad news in one thread....

    Richie retiring
    Sky having the test series next year

    As Henry said it is a very fitting ending for him



    Having watched the cricket yesterday on Sky Sports, I don't think we will be saying that when Graham Thorpe hangs up his microphone :(
