Richer Sounds won't price match on headphones?

Does anyone know why this is, or if the sales clerk I spoke to was wrong? I was enquiring about some sennheiser hd238s, which are £69.99 in RS but £47.53 on amazon. I asked for a price match and the clerk asked how much postage was for them. I told him it was free, and he then said sorry they couldn't price match because headphones are an accessory. Is this right? Can anyone elaborate?

PS since when are headphones an accessory? if they're an accessory surely my speakers are an accessory?

Ring Customer services and check. If they should have price matched get them to inform the shop you went into and hopefully get a little something extra for your trouble.

Sure. What they are saying that as well as matching any internet price, they will also BEAT it by the amount given in the price range table. But only if is above £50.

If the item is below £50 then they will simply price match it, and will not give you further discount.

And, importantly, the last line states that this also applies to ACCESSORIES, which includes headphones.

To summarise: They will definitely match the Amazon price of your headphones.

No, it means that they will also give the extra discount even if it is an accessory, but only if it above £50.

Of course, they don't specify whether the £50 limit is their own price, or the cheaper price you have seen elsewhere. In your case, their price for the headphones is above £50 but the Amazon price is below. So they will definitely price match for you, but whether you'll get the further £5 discount is debatable.

Just spoke to another salesman who told me that the price match was no problem. I didn't bother mentioning yesterday's phone call. Obviously just a dodgy salesman. Off to pick up the headphones now. Thanks for confirming that guys, I would have given up on it if not.

Conclusion, Richer Sounds DO price match on headphones (and anything else in their store) . Very happy
