    Hi,

Just read on Home Cinema Choice web-site news that Richer sounds are accusing Phillips of supplying faulty DVD recorders (model 880). Philips are saying that making them multi-region is causing the problems.

Anyone bought this model yet in multi-region form?

Richer Sounds actually had stuff in stock  & they claim that the manufacturer is supplying them faulty goods mmmm.... sounds familiar....

I know that early versions of the MK1 DVDR1000 had firmware problems and were recalled. Something to do with a firmware bug. Glitches were: not recognising pre-recorded dvds, not updating menu on new recordings and not recognising discs it has recorded at all.

AFAIK there no such problems with any of the later models.

IMO the rows over Richer sounds importing greys and Philips not wanting to sort them out if they go wrong... instead they're using a conveniant way of getting out of it (multi region upgrade).....
