Just looking to see if they have any X500s.

Currently all the old X35 and X55s have disappeared off their website. No sign of the higher end JVC PJs like the X500 either.

Does anyone know if Richers have stopped selling JVC?

I was in last week looking for a projector and the salesman told me they have stopped but didn't know why?

I don't think Richers ever carried the full range of JVC and only usually had the base model and even then usually towards the end of it's life cycle. They seemed to specialise in selling them once a particular model has been discontinued by buying all remaining stocks from JVC.

Now the X35's have all gone I doubt they will have any more until the X500 is about to be dropped.

Thanks guys. Funny they have both full phat Sony 4ks. I liked the X500 at the Bristol show, so hopefully unless a bargain basement and good quality 4k PJ arrives sometime, I might go for the x500. Not that my X30 isn't enjoyable, in fact I still appreciate those deep blacks etc

I rang richer sounds (nottingham) a while back for an x55. The sales guy told me that they didn't sell that many Jvc's so I'm wondering whether that has anything to do with it.

By the way I just upgraded to an x500 from a x30.

Nice one Imran I am sure you will find it a decent upgrade.:D

Lucky you Imran. Hope you got it from one of the assured advertisers on here. I've had to put the money towards something else (with a little help from SWMBO).....blast!

Thanks guys. I'm just playing with the different setting now! The motion definitely seems to be better on it compared to the x30. I will have to have a play with the settings on it to get the best out of it. Then I will be able to tell how much of an improvement it is over the x30. Out of the box it was very bright and appeared to be better than the x30.

Keith if your ever passing your more than welcome to check it out.

Would be interested in your thoughts on contrast/black levels in comparison as well when you get the chance.

You do realise that your now going to have to buy a 4k HTPC to compliment this fine machine :p

Brian will let you have my thoughts in due course.

4k htpc never thought of that! Is it worthwhile getting one now these? I thought the x500 wasn't native 4k so it won't make a difference?

Can't speak from personal experience but I've read that 4k content looks fantastic on it. It can accept true 4k content and take frames and ouptut it via eshift.

Quite a bit of cost doing a 4k PC for the limited content that is available. Might be worthwhile doing once more content is available.

Thanks I will see if I can pick a cheap one up second hand. Otherwise I may wait until there is more 4k content.
