    1. How did you buy it?
    2. How long have you had it?
    3. How many hours have you watched?
    4. Can *you* see it in regular viewing?

Don’t accept Richer Sounds dictation, you’ve only had it a short while.
Put in writing to your local store and their head office in writing that it is a manufacturer defective unit. Provide photos with the letters and copy in your credit card company.
So far I have heard bad things about Curry’s, Richer Sounds, Crampton & Moore and John Lewis ...... are there no good options these days.... maybe I should start my own web outlet lol.

Only if mail order. However, your contract is with them, so it’s up to them to make it right.

according to their policy they will give a full refund or replacement if item Is faulty , if you return an item with no fault they will charge you 15% re stocking fee.
they are willing do a refund with 15% re stocking fee and that was my debate item is faulty so I should get either a full refund or replacement , according to them if only LG agrees its faulty only then they can do a replacement , and its me who needs to get in touch with LG not them as because GDPR they cant share my details with the LG.

Make sure you tell them you’re seeing it in content. Don’t mention the background screens, they’ll latch onto that and disregard the content. Tell them what you we’re watching when you saw banding.

Had the same on my E7 last year, I was outside 28 days (long story, cashback related) so took pictures, got LGs people round and they did a panel swap. I’m sure LG will ask you to run some compensation cycles but they will eventually admit that dark side is not within spec. Get Arrival on, it’ll be a horror show.

    your joking right ?

you should see my E8 i had and LG said there was nothing wrong with it .

I sent it back to retailer who was going to charge me and then they didnt confirm the fault , they just refunded me in full . must of been the phone calls logged with Consumer direct/CAB . it took over 3 weeks to get a full refund though.

I buy from internet that way you have 14 days DSR .

Bypass the store and contact @Richer Sounds here. Tom Griffiths should contact you to sort it out. Too much hassle for the store but nothing is too much trouble for Tom.

That's not right. Hopefully you just got unlucky as no one in their right mind can claim that's normal. For me, they asked for a lot of photos and running of compensation cycles. It took a while but they were happy to swap the panel in the end. My issue was probably more subtle than yours. IMG_20171230_190311.jpg

Sadly you're going to have to be a bit pushy. I had banding on my b8. Initially my RS store said 'it's within spec' so I hit back quite strongly. I ended up getting £300 knocked off a new c8 which has been excellent.

I had similar problems with John Lewis. I think retailers see increasingly saying the 'in spec' line in the hopes that customers will just back down. I don't get how and why shops like RS do that - their business is vision and audio, why in earth do they thibk that is an acceptable line to push?

Seems to me with the latest TV's this is a big problem the banding and shops are having that many returned now they are just trying to cut down on the returns fobbing people off if they can, last time I brought a TV from RS a decade ago returned 3 TV's I tried at home until I was happy with one. Take it back get them to put it on in the shop so they see the fault then kick off till they refund you in there. Order online in future then can just repack and return they have no choice to refund then.

this is richer sounds reply :

We would have to wait for 30 days for LG to have a look at this TV. The only other option is to return it with a handling charge of 15%, as we don’t deem it to be faulty, and our service team don’t

deem it to be faulty. Besides this, you could try adjusting the settings to see if it helps with the issue you're experiencing. Also, it can take a while for an OLED to warm up to full performance levels.

This is within tolerance and no matter what TV you buy or what size you will see imperfections when you go looking for them on a static background, this is why manufacturers design normal viewing guidelines as the TV is designed to be watched like that.

Forget what the the local store is saying, you are entitled to a full refund within 28days no questions asked if are not happy with the product, and boy that banding is bad.
Call customer service, or better, email too just to have "paper trail" and don't start with compensation cycles and blah blah if you're within those 28 days, involving LG it's for when you're outside the 28days perion and within the first year, rest its up to richer sounds.
Any issues, file complaints, it's ridiculous to pay a ton of money and get poor service, that doesn't sound like Richer Sounds and I use them also.

No, you're not. Unless the product is ordered online or by telephone, in which case you can return the item for any reason in 28 days. Only anything bought in store that is deemed faulty would be eligible for return without restocking fee or replacement.
