Im getting very close to getting a 6 series panny plasma and by Gordons recommendation, it will be run into the vga input from the rgbhv output of a lumagenHDP (not risking dvi until I know the issues can be worked around). Gordon suggested an extron cable but I dont know where to go to get one. I probably only need 1m length. I presume i need male vga to female bnc. How much should I pay? Alternatives? Bettercables? Again, where from?

    many thanks

you did say didnt you....... silly me...... it must have bypassed my brain in some way because you are doing VGA to RGBHV where i want to do it the other way around :D

£100 sounds a tad too much for me..... it would be cheaper to go RGBHV to RGBHV

Thanks guys, that gives me a tad more choice...... I am just a bit scared off by the thought of £120 cables!! Normally I get powerbuy or home made ones at a fraction!

HD15 to HD15 or 5BNC are pretty similar in price from most of the cable manufacturers.

We mainly supply VanDamme, Supra and BetterCables into the Home theatre market - though we do supply Extron, In-Line and Kramer switching and distribution products and occasionally cables from these companies.

A decent quality HD15 to HD15 or 5BNC from any of the above is going to cost you near £100.00 - though VanDamme do have the economy 'Blue' series at around £25.00.

More than happy to provide you with a Blue Series plus one of the others for you to evaluate - its not difficult to see why your spending more on the likes of the BetterCables Silver Serpent; especially with the feed from a Lumagen processor.

    Best regards

    Joe

Sorry Ad I thought you knew Joe was the man for this stuff. I use Bettercables myself. I used to use RGB communications own brand 5 core but they changed to Extron. I have one fo those as well that I carry around with me.

If Joe can get you good short HD15 to 5BNC then that'll be fine. In my home system I have a very short (under 1m) Van Damme RGBHVtoVGA and Extron DVI.

    Cheers,

    G
