Is it possible to get s-video from the scart on a pace 1000 NTL cable STB? All I get is B $ W pictures.

I am not familiar with that particular STB, but I had the same problem with the RGB outlet on my Portuguese STB, until I used the second scart outlet, labelled VHS, when bingo! I got colour to the S-video input on my monitor.

You may also need to change the menu setting on your STB from RGB to S-Video or S-VHS.

    Good luck

Thanks for the reply Nick, but I get the same result from both scarts and s-video is not an option in the control panel.

    Ken,

Most STB only offer Composite or RGB output, not S-Video (Sky+ being the exception).

You need a conversion box. IMO the best on the market is made by http://www.rgbtosvideo.com

If you want to make sure you lose minimal quality in the conversion process JS Tech is the way to go. John Sim actually spends quite some time in the plasma forum, where his convertors are generally viewed as being second to none.

    Kind Regards,

    James

Most gadgets will not putput RGB and S VHS together - it has to be selected from the set up menu - either one or the other...
