I have a HTPC and a Sanyo PLV-Z1 projector, my dilemma is do I continue to use my HTPC with Descaler and Powerstrip to provide TV pictures from my Cable TV box, OR buy a SCART RGB to Component video converter from Lektropacks or similar.

The cost of the converter and a 5m long set of cables is about £140 and I am not sure if the picture quality will be much better or even worse.

Also is Powerdvd/Windvd using powerstrip better than a prog-scan DVD player direct into the projector. I currenty suffer from solorization with Powerdvd/Windvd although that could be the DAC's on my Geforce 3 card.

If anyone has experience of any of this I would be most grateful for some feedback.

I have crossed posted this in the Projector forum as well.

    Thanks

    Paul
