I would like to make a cable for some of my old console that has a female scart on one end and a vga plug on the other so i can use the passthrough on my quadscan.

Can i just use the sync that is in the composite (ie pin 20 of scart ) or do i need the strip the sync from the video signal first ???

alot of these machines have rgb or composite but no s-video so would like to see which gives the best results, a doubled compsite signal or an rgb signal straight in.

thanks in advance.

It should work without a problem. It's just a question of getting enough voltage to the sync circuits.

thanks Roland, so i may need an amplifier for the sync.

Keene do what they call SyncBlaster leads , scart to either HD15 or 5BNC leads.

Don't know how good they are.

thanks for that laura, i remeber looking at them when i had a dlp, if i remeber they have a small amplifier in the scart end to boost the sync.

that is what i was thinking of making but with a female scart socket rather than male so i can plug any machine into it.
