Does anyone else make a RGB Scart cable for the Gamecube apart from the £20 Nintendo one?
That is the only one worth getting! The cable is very good.
The others do not work anyway.
Correction Sinzer . There is a 3rd party cable that seems to be every bit as good as the official Cable. In fact, it offers more flexibilty by having a Composite Video/Audio L/R breakout box attached to the cable. It also uses Gold Plated connectors thougout....if that's your thing. Anyway, I don't think they are available in shops but I buy them bulk from another source for use in my mods. If you want one, PM or email me .
</bows to the cable master>
Listen to Groundy, I am just an unworthy peon
Well I wouldn't fo that far mate - sometimes you can be quite insightful .
The Game cable (£9.99) is also supposed to be RGB capable with the benefit of having the audio outputs separate to the Scart - just in case you wanted to plug into an amp etc.
how much is your cable groundy an how do you know yours is as good as the official one have you done side by side comparisons?? im very interested in your cable
Im interested in the cable too!
Please give me some details thanks.
Ok guys, the cable I'm referring to is made by a compny called Venom. I have not seen this in any high-street shops though somewhere may sell them? Perhaps this is the cable bossc@ is referring to but from what I've been told, the Game cable only outputs Composite at best.
I buy my cables from the US and I doubt they would accept single orders on this. The cable itself is fine with gold plated connectors throughout. I can see no discernable difference between this and the official PAL RGB Cable. I'm not in a habit of selling these on as I tend to need them myself but if anyone wants one, I will certainly provide a few for people. PM me if interested.
A mate works at Game, he is going to get me a cable to see if this does output RGB.
I will post tomorrow with results!
Ive tried out the RGB cable from Game and it works a treat!
My TV which I use for video games can only take a RGB input, it doesn't work with Composite.
It switched automatically to the AV channel when turned on, allows me to use the 60 Hz mode.
Picture quality is excellent, colour and detail much sharper and clearer!
Worth the £9.99.
Is this one at play any good:
play cube rgb, also anyone know if this has phono out to allows audio output to av amp
Doesn't look like it - no RCA Audio breakout box attached.
The Game cable IS RGB. I compared it with a composite cable and there is a big difference.
But lately I've noticed what I guess is a 'chickenwire' effect (is that the right term?). White text on dark backgrounds seem to have a bit of shadow and the pixels seem to move and wobble ever so slightly. Its only noticeable up-close (maybe 6" away) but its there.
So I guess I'll have to buy an official cable then...
could be a faulty cable take it back to game and ask(demand) a replacment
I got the one from play. It's just got scart on the other end - no phonos. I have heard people have problems getting their tv to select the rgb part of it. I have no probs with it
Good for £8
