It sounds to me that your projector connections are designed for a PC to connect its VGA connector to. These are not compatible with the DVD RGB!

    Dave,

I had a look at the site - a found various cables that might fit your description but nothing mentioned the sync on green as far as I can see.

Look for "leads to go" then in the window look for "Scart to three phono plugs (RGB with sync on green). You will see this description: Cable type: 3 x URM70 digital coaxial.
Connector Type: Gold Scart plug + gold bullet type phono plugs
Typical usage: Scart - RGB sync on green. For DVD to TV - projector etc (no external sync connection). This a Scart plug that has the synchronisation signal taken from pin 19(sync) to pin 11(Green). I originally bought a Scart to 3 phono with a separate composite sync phono, which did not work. After some research I found that connecting pin 19 to pin 11 with a 50-ohm resistor in between that my 10 ht would work of my NTL digital box. It should therefore work off your DVD player.
