I am on the verge of buying a 32" Panasonic TX32DK1 nicam TV.
Last night on a newsgroup (?dvd.media.uk or home-cinema.uk) I read about a problem with RGB input into some Panny TVs. It causes some shadowing or bars down the left side of the screen, apparently.
Can anyone give me more details, please?
Is it distracting or can you live with it?
Please help soon, I have a set reserved!
    Thanks

I have a TX-32PK20 and have stopped using RGB alltogether. The problem:
Horizontal shadowy bands moving up the screen. Once you notice it there's no way you could put up with it. Also it seems to be happening on many Panasonic models and has nothing to do with the source materials.
If RGB is important to you (which it should be) stay well away from this brand.

This sounds like crosstalk from the tuner. Have you tried the pin19 snip?

I tried that but unfortunately it wasn't the problem, thanks anyway.

Dorgan, it is a shame for us all that the pin 19 snip does not work! How did you know to try it?

Does anyone know how we can find out which Panansonic TV ranges are affected by the RGB shadowing problem?

Its hard not to use RGB when the picture from sky digital is so much sharper than straight video. My pk3 suffers the same problem.....and I often sit there trying to see which channel is causing the shadow! What I have discovered is that while watching sky and disconecting the normal terrestrial aerial the shadow disappears. This might help you guys

I completly agree with zingela i have dk1 and had exactly the same problem . i tried everything and then disconnected the ariel lead from the video to the telly and it stopped.

I think i t may only be video's with TV links tho as it dos'nt happen with my older sony video's connected.

BTW when this dos'nt happen the DK1 has a crisp clear picture in RGB IMO.

    hope this helps

    Shaun
