My tv (Sony KV32FX65) has only 1 RGB scart, At the moment i have the following set up.
XBOX to SATELITE RECEIVER to DVD PLAYER to RGB SCART ON TV which enables RGB for all.
I am using Good quality scart leads (Monster). will this method of connection reduce the signal quality of all connected equipment?

There is a school of thought that each time the signal passes through a piece of equipment its quality is slightly degraded. Following this 'rule' your DVD picture should be as good as it can be, the satellite a bit less and the XBox a further bit less. You could try connecting each piece of kit directly to the TV to see if there is a noticeable difference.

As a possible alternative to reduce the daisy chain, could the DVD be connected to another scart on the TV and output an S-video signal to it?

Trial and error, as usual, is the best way of deciding what is best for you, using your own set-up.

Do Sky digital boxes do RGB passthrough? I didn't think they did.

If you are not interested in digital auido, Try to connect your Xbox throught Svideo to Scart 2 or 3 usin an AV adaptator and a good quality cable Svideo+phono to scart. I do this with my Play station and I get almost the quality of RGB.

I Agree with Rolo tomasi more steps may cause signal degradation.

    Cheers

Joytech do an x-box lead that has the choice of RGB scart or 4pin s-video, as well as 2channel audio and an optical digital out! Fully loaded you might say. I connect my x-box via s-video to my tv and my dvd via RGB but still get 5.1 audio from my x-box.:smashin:
