    Does anyone know what exactly is RGB loopthrough.

    In particular in the case of VCRs with 2 SCARTS.

    Do all VCRS with 2 SCARTS have RGB loopthrough?
    If they do does it mean that the connections for RGB (7,11 &15 etc) are simply connected from one SCART to the other or is there some buffering involved?

    Dej, I dont know for sure but I dont think that all VCRs have RGB loop through. As for buffering I would say not. I have an 8 year old panasonic VCR and it doesnt do RGP loop through.

    I only tried it once. Didnt fancy my DVD or Sky Box going through the VCR. Most dual scart DVDs and Sky Boxes will do RGB Loop through though.

    No buffering involved. I do it with my DVD and Cable TV box. It is basic pass through, but the DVD output cuts off the Cable TV input to the DVD.

    Digibox out -> DVD In
    DVD Out -> TV

    If the DVD is in standby or off completely then the Digibox is displayed on screen. As soon as the DVD is on, whatever the status of the digibox the DVD is displayed on screen.

    Thanks for the info.

    Is that a DVD player or recorder? I'm looking for a player with 2 SCARTS, I haven't found one yet.

    Be careful if the DVD player is at the end of the chain.

    A mate of mine had it set up as.....

    DVD>VCR>STB>TV

    As his DVD only had one SCART.

    He had to buy an in-line mains switch for the DVD as even in standby mode (no power on/off buttom) it was sending a signal down the scart and thus disabling everything else in the link.
