I bought a Thompson DT1000 Freeview stb and it worked fine on my Mum's old Panasonic 4:3 TV in RGB mode.

But I recently set it up on my sister's TV (again an old Panasonic TV, but newer than Mum's).

When I set the STB to RGB and switch to any analog channels there is a 'rolling' picture of the freeview channel coming through.

Switch the stb to composite and it's fine.

The scart leads are fully connected 'out of the box' cheapo type but worked OK before.

    Any ideas?

Sounds like the TV is crap and not RGB compatible

It is RGB compatible and gives a very good picture from the STB in this mode.

Try moving the STB as far away from the TV as possible and make sure none of the STB cables are touching anything else (including the power cable). Does this help with the interference?

It doesn't matter that the scart leads worked okay on another TV because each TV is different and sometimes signals do creep through, sometimes on pin 19. Do try another Scart cable but best if you could 'borrow' one rather than buying a new one, just in case it doesn't help :)

My (crappy) Goodmans TV does this. If it is in composite everything should be fine. Everything is affected by this be it DVD players, games consoles, STBs, etc.

Solution, make her buy a new TV
