Anyone know of a recorder that has RGB in (to record from Sky+), DV in for my camcorder! and uses -r/-rw (minus) discs?

Not worried about price (wife will be buying)
    Don't need HDD as Sky+ is 120GB ver1

    LG4912 - not RGB?
    Pioneer 220 - no DV?

    Cheers

...and the Sony GX700 falls into the category as well. The new Toshiba DR3 qualifies but is still a month or so away.

Unless your SKY+ 120Gb has gained the ability to edit you will always regret (possibly a bit strong  ) not getting a HDD/DVD combo.

Overnight Sunday I downloaded 3 x Shoebox Zoo plus 2 x Doc Martin movies from Sky+ at a quality setting to fit the longest movie (1hr 25m) onto a single DVD. The next night 15 minutes tinkering had 3 separate originals on the Tosh HDD and then fast dubbed the 2 movies to DVD at the same quality as recorded on Sky+, approx 20 mins each to burn/finalise, in the background, whilst watching Sky+ on RGB passthru.

Remember anything over about a 2 hour download onto a single disk is going to look worse, and it will still have Sky+ padding and ads on it. Treat yourself, as CLH says, it is sometimes cheaper ;) In fact, if she's buying, you NEED a HDD/DVD recorder :smashin:

    Thank you for the responses.

Toshiba DR3 at RGBdirect for £258.95 - not bad

Will check up on others later.

    Cheers
