I have a Pioneer 420 DVD/HDD nachine, a Grundig Freeview STB and a Sony TV with RGB capability on one of 3 scarts. I use RGB with the STB TV and s-video for the DVD playback

The STB has RGB output to the TV out, but not to the VCR/DVD recorder out.
As the 420 has scart loop through which can be set permanently on, does this mean that I can feed the 420 from the STB's TV out and so record and watch STB channels in RGB mode, having switched the STB-TV and recorder connections.

I realise that to watch a digital program when recording analog, I would have to accept composite video mode from the STB's recorder-out.
