Look out for the banner ads at the top of the page as JS advertise there whose converters are highly regarded.

My display is a Panasonic TH-42PWD6.

I am thinking of buying the convertor you suggest and

QED Qunex PCV Cable - £7.5 per Half Metre
QED Qunex PCV Plugs - £50 Qty 6 - Fitted

I am not sure yet whether I need to multiply the price per meter by 3 ?

    http://www.hifistore.co.uk/category.php?qsCat=CUSTCOMP

Would the convertor give a better picture than running an S video cable same make as above via my amp straight to the display

    Thanks

    yes it will.

or if you are not using your vga input on the plasma the rgb to vga will give the best picture.

why not email them at js/tech and see what cables they can supply for your budget

Interesting this is one I have not thought of

The plasma has a VGA input so could I come out of the AMP using an RGB to VGA lead? Is there anything I lose by doing this?

Thanks again this is proving very helpful

As others have said the JS Technology RGB2YUV converters have proven themselves over and over and do a great job with RGB from a Digibox; pretty much every system we supply includes one of John's boxes

Video cables do vary a lot in price - we supply four main brands that cover most budgets.

The best value for money cable we offer being VanDamme - which are all custom made to suit each application.

Using a 3RCA to HD15 to interface with the HD15 input on your PWD display works well - we keep a range of short cables in stock just for that application.

A VanDamme Red Series 8m will work fine out of a JS Technology converter and wont destroy your signal - and wont cost a fortune.

RGB converted to YUV will look better than S-Video - which is only available on some not all Digibox designs.

    Best regards

    Joe
