RGB and S-Video cable connections

My brain is frazzled at the moment :(

I'm planning to buy a Panasonic TH-42PH9.

Unfortunately connectivity is a slight issue & I'm not sure what the best solution is.

Basically the possibility exists to connect the Sony DVB-T receiver to the panel via S-video with a scart to s-video lead as the Sony has Y/C separation as an ouput option.

I was wondering if there would be a significant difference in picture quality between an S-video & RGB signal output, especially on a plasma panel like this ?

If there is likely to be a noticeable shift in quality I'll have to re-think the options

I'm afraid the answer is "it depends" :thumbsdow
Some S-video implementations are indistinguishable from RGB to most viewers. Others have flaws.
In theory RGB would be better but whether you'll be able to tell the difference depends on both the S-video quality of the particular source that you have (Freeview box in this case) as well as the S-video quality of the display you intend to use.
