Afternoon All, Does anyone know of any companies that revert back to 32 bit from 64? I have an iphone 6 that i no longer use but with a number of plant and insect identification apps on but after updating without realising can no longer use them. Thanks in advance, Davey.
I'm fairly sure it was 9.?? but then as soon as it tripped over to 10.?? it went from 32 to 64 and the apps stopped working. I've contacted the app developers and they wont be updating the apps so all i can think of is that someone somewhere must be able to 'downgrade' operating systems.
You won't be able to roll back. Both you and the app developers were given about a year's notice that old apps would stop working.
Thanks for that Stiggy - far from ideal. Surely it must be possible though for someone somewhere to do it though?
Nope, you're into phone forensics attempting to do that. You're only hope of getting those apps to work is to get hold of an older iPad/iPhone with an old iOS version on it. You can then install those apps.
Have you looked to see if there are any equivalent apps on the app store? I typed in insect identification on the app store and a few options popped up, not sure if are any good to you however.
You look for a used iPhone checking/specifying that it has an old iOS 9.3.5 version on it. You could always put a wanted ad on our iPhone classified forum here.
Thanks for that mate but I think there was a big push initially to get good identification apps out but then I don't know if there was insufficient sales but the good ones aren't being updated.
I've got an old iPhone 5 that hasn't been updated in probably 4 years if that'll work? How would i get the app from the updated phone on it though? Many thanks for your help guys.
Click the App Store on it, at the top RHS you should see your profile pic, click it and that will take you to your Apple account. Click the “Purchased” tab and it will bring up a list of all the apps paid and free you've downloaded. Click the “Not on this iPhone” tab and scroll down to see the apps you want and click the cloud icon to download them.
That's great thank you. Would i still be able to see the data contained within the apps though that I've added like photos of species and locations?
