Just seen Ep3 teaser trailer over on www.starwars.com Looks like this could just be the one to convince us that the prequels were worth the effort after all.... I know it won't feel the same as the originals but, hey, you have to admit it's looking tasty. Just pray that Jar Jar Binks doesnt turn up somewhere!!!

I am very excited about this. I've read the plot points and it is all generally good stuff. This has the potential and hopefully because of the darker nature of the film it will have less annoying characters.

I thought it looks promising. We get to see all the jedi being offed by darth vader and the empire taking its roots, setting everything up nicely for episode IV!

I think I am gonna reserve judgment on this untill a longer trailer can be seen. Half of the teaser is old footage after all.We allready know that there will be Jedi action so seeing mace and yoda ready to fight does not make me think wow must see this film. Kind of cool with the vader voice and all but you just know that is going to be right at the end and that will be how the movie finishes.
Also for any one that has not seen empire, a younger audeice or people that have been drawn in to films by seeing the prequels, the revelation in empire that vader is lukes father just wont have the same impact will it

Anyone notice the shot of R2-D2 and C-3PO in a white corridor which looked alot like the corridor of the Rebel Blockade Runner in Episode 4, could this possibly mean the Revenge of the Sith finishes where A New Hope begins?

thats the idea as far as i know.
Then again there are immages of luke and alec guiness as obi wan, so they might just be trying to apeal to the older generation that grew up with the originals.

The Shot of R2 and 3PO looks like it is from from epIV rather than the new one.

It looked to me as if they were filling in Obi Wans narration with footage from the prequals and other stock footage just to show what has gone before by giving visuals to the words.

The R2D2 C3P0 shot was from Ep 4 and just used for filler. They've not yet finished all the effects shots which is why most of it was stuff we've already seen.

Ep 3 ends with Luke and Leia being babies, and Darth has just been brought into existance, so I doubt it will end up directly at Ep 4. That's still about 18/19 years away (Carrie Fisher was 19 when SW was made).

I liked this trailer - it had atmosphere and for the first time seemed to have a similar feel to the original trilogy. Of course, this is just a trailer, so we still don't know if it's going to be good or bad. It would make a nice change for it to be good. :)

The Tentive 4 blockade runner is in Episode 3. Its Bail Organa's ship. Loads of pics of it on the Hyperspace site.

Trailer looks ok. Dont think it will beat Empire though.

I wonder when I see comments like this , how you expected to see Yoda fight ?
He is after all only about 2 Ft tall with short arms and shorter legs , him being a Jedi would have to mean he would be useful with a light sabre . So as he's so small , how else would he fight

I thought the Yoda Fight Scene in Ep II brought a bit of humour to the Film but also how else could a 2 ft high midget be a Jedi unless he was a bit light on his feet :D

I don't get it with everyone (or at least the Star Wars purists). I never saw the original Trilogy until recently, having bought the DVD box set. I had already seen PM and AOTC some time back. Therefore all, bar Episode 3, I've watched them in cronological order. Because of this I have the benefit of not being completely blinded by nostalgia and as such I can honestly say that (all IMO of course) the most annoying and unrealistic creature of all, by far, was chewy (spelling?). As for comedy, again by far, the biggest joke was the end section of ROTJ and watching those fur ball creatures performing what looked like their circus clown routines.

The story lines in Ep. 1 and 2 are every bit as good as in any of the originals with great continuity as well. They have not let the original 3 down, far from it. I enjoyed 1 and 2 more than any of them and certainly not just because they are so visually superior and far more realistic (as you would expect given the time difference).

    Croc :lesson: ;)

Just a quick wee message to say i've just finished reading the episode 3 screenplay and if the film is half as good you guys have nothing to fear, really f####n good. i know they keep saying its gonna be dark, but man i didnt expect it to be this crazy, lots of good fights and just a quality script, Empire standard. Feel free to ask me any questions about what happens. May the force be with you

I was tempted to read the screenplay too but didn’t give in. even though everyone pretty much knows what’s going to happen I just thought it’d spoil things.

Although, yes, most be do know the key story points i couldn't disagree more that reading it will spoil the film. I've never been too concerned with 'what happens next' in any of the films and just loved watching the films over and over for they are and by reading the creenplay it allows you the freedom to forget about what next and just enjoy the film. Was lord of the rings spoilt for all those who had read the books before?

I wouldn’t know, I’ve never read the books.

But I would have thought reading a story and reading a script are two different matters. One tells a story and the other gives the adaptation of that story in addition to any creative licence taken to portray it.

True reading the script or book will give out all the major suprise parts like who kills Mace and when Palpatine is revealed but I wouldnt say it totally ruins it, like with LOTR Trilogy, everyone knew how it would all end but they still enjoyed the films, if anything reading the book has made me want to see the film more than ever.
