    Hi all,

Since I posted a few requests for advice a while ago, I would like to let you all know that I'm waiting for a mint second hand Revel B15a I picked up from the US ebay, for a very good price.

I was going to a SVS, but it was way too big.... divorce was a concern :suicide:

Anyway, I hope that in a couple of weeks I get back yo you with my impressions.

    Luis

doubt you will be dissapointed, this is a great sub.better than any rel up to studio which i have not had.but blows away stentor and below for sound quality and bass levels.and a box which is very small for the performance achieved.

Yes, box size was a factor. I first thought of a SVS, for the performance on paper, something like the PB12-Plus/2 or Ultra/2. Less expensive but waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy bigger :D :D

It would have dominated my living room and my wife's chatter for months on end..... :suicide: :suicide:

I'm now eager for it to arrive, of course.

But tomorrow I will also have a new fantastic toy, my long awaited SME V! Yes!

Yeah, but my SME 10 spins at least one LP per day, much more, time permitting.

    I love the vinyl sound...

cant argue with the sound,it blows any digital source away.but i am too lazy to get up to change sides or tracks.when i do play it though it is nice.

It's here! Actually it's been here since Friday (Monday to Friday from Florida to Portugal, glad it got out of Katrina's way in time, and not too long, quite happy with UPS) and it is AWESOME, as an american would put it!

It is great with movies and music, and the PEQ is very, very good. I had an ugly 10dB peak around 60Hz and it's almost gone. I still have an unfortunate 13dB dip at about 50Hz, but the sub is not even in a corner since I'm about to move to my new home where one of the living room corners is already reserved.

A slight downside is the feet, they're spikes, blunt in one end and can be reversed to full pointed spikes. 50 kg..... No matter how you put them, they will perforate my wooden floor.

I'm getting 4 Auralex MoPads (much less conspicuous than Gramma) to set it, using the spikes to perforate the MoPads, keeping them in place. I'll do the same with my Calliope speakers.

Anyway, I can only recommend this sub. I watched LOTR - Two Towers, and the Elm's Keep scenes were tremendous, and I do mean tremendous..... Particularly the wall blowup.... wow.....

As to stereo music, It's quite rewarding listening to stuff that my main speakers rolled off to inaudible leves and now come to life as totally different things, assuming a different character and do indeed sound much more balanced. Maybe that's because I'm now listening to the music as the authors intended.....

    1900US$ + 475US$ for UPS shipping (5-day). Ebay US.

It was new in its sealed box and it's the new 2005 B15a version with the top of the line Sub30 control panel, with much more options, 12V triggering, etc.

I can try to post a couple of pics tomorrow.

Mine is maple and black would indeed suit my living room much better.....

But it's brand new, sealed, and it has the Sub30 amplifier, with new functionalities, so no trade opportunity here...

Mmmmmm..... Which means they are new also, then. Where do you live? If it wasn't too costly, transportation wise, maybe we could consider a trade, plus a bit extra to cover the extra cost of the maple version.....

I ended up forgetting to post a picture of my new beast!

The bunch of crap on top is WAF friendly and it all tumbles down violently as soon as I crank the system a bit, so I have to remove all that from it prior....

This is just a makeshift spot to enjoy it up more or less October 15, when I'll move and have it properly setup in a corner. And no crap on top!

This a great sounding subwoofer   :D :smashin:

I can not recommend it enough!
