That's a bugger - 27 pence over the customs limit!

Here's a question which doesn't really belong here, but anyway, does anyone know the position with customs, if you pre-order a DVD which is valued at, say £17.50, but when it is released, the exchange rate has changed, and puts the displayed value over the £18 threshold? Can you argue that when you purchased the item, the value was below £18?

I have just checked with 3 currency converters, one being the bank of canada and they all said that it was about £17.91 which is under. Also look at the 2 disc version that went down by $4 which would make it £16.41

Ah, well I used DVD Soon's currency converter, so maybe it's not quite so up to date. I'll certainly be keeping an eye on the price, as I've just placed my order for it! :smashin:

I often wonder how accurate the Post Office/customs calculator is as well!

Am I right in thinking this is the 4 disc Director's Cut?

Will it have French writing plastered all over it?

One more...I haven't ordered from dvdsoon for a while...Will they charge me when they ship it?

It will have French language on an outer 'insert', if you see what I mean, but not on the actual box, if it's the same as the last two. I have to say, the outer 'insert' was a bugger to get off my TTT Platinum, but you can't argue for the price.

No they don't charge when they ship, they charge when you order.

It is the 4-disc extended edition - I don't believe they are referred to as "Director's Cuts" (he did cut both after all ;) )

I'm just looking at my copies of FOTR EE (the first disc I ever got charged Customs on BTW :censored: ) and TTT EE - the only French writing on FOTR is on the peice of paper which was (lightly) glued on to the outside of the packaging - TTT, however, has French writing on each disc (as well as English ofcourse) and the piece of paper (which was not so lightly glued on) is half French, half English.

Most importantly, the outer packaging is French-free and gorgeous - I fully expect ROTK to be the same :lease:

As mentioned in the previous reply, you are charged straight away - great while it's at this low price.
