I started watching this DVD, region 2, disk 1, just before 59 minutes in, where the orcs are rafting up the river there is a sound problem. It seems to effect both THX EX and DTS ES 6.1 formats .

On my DVD32R + AV192R, with DTS ES selected, the light showing that it is decoding DTS ES briefly turns off. Has anyone else seen this?

    Is it

    - a problem with DVD32R/AV192R,
    - an authoring problem, or
    - a problem with the DVD?

    Thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Andrew

    Duff disk?
If the fault repeats itself on another player you have your answer. After that its check cables etc etc etc. If its an authoring fault I'm sure we will all hear about it......

After playing around - I turned off then on the AV192R. It was obviously getting itself in a horrible mess over the layer change.

[It obviously needed it as it was leaving the DTS ES decoding light on when the display went off and did not show the THX EX light when the display was on.]

While the layer change is still poor, it is much better than it was. The THX EX audio is reasonable, the DTS EX poor - I think that the AV192R is over eager to change audio format. Now I DTS EX on, have layer change, brief (quarter second) sound, DTS EX off (quarter second), then DTS EX on.

What is the software version on your AV192R (it shows when you power up)?

bad authoring methinks..... What is your default mode for 48k set to?
What is the firmware revision on the DVD32R (found in the setup menu), its in the player info section (5) should say something like V3.85/S58 or similar.
