    Hi,
I was just looking through my pre-orders at Play and noticed that the extended edition boxset for ROTK is unavailable  . I emailed Play and got this response:

    Dear Customer,

    Thank you for the email.

This item currently has a status of 'Sold Out'. This means that originally it was only available in limited quantities and that unfortunately all copies have now been sold. As it is unlikely that we will be able to offer the item again in the near future we have cancelled your order.

Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you and thank you for your patience and valued custom.

    Kind regards

I pre-ordered this back in June. I've also noticed that it also is no longer listed on their site!

    Bugger!
I was just going to post about a ROTK extended version.
I've just ordered the 'Director's Extended Version' of FOTR and TTT so how come ROTK is already sold out?
Is there going to be another run of it later?
I wouldn't like to be stuck with 2 parts of a trilogy...

Was that the boxset with the bookends? Then I'm not surprised if Play have sold out of their allocation. The normal version of the extended edition won't sell out for some time, that will be mass produced as they are expecting it to be a big Xmas seller (hence why it was held back).

Personally, I think you'll be able to pick it up this time next year (at the latest) for a tenner in a HMV sale, just like FotR and TTT.

I emailed them with the same question the other day and got a different answer, this is what they told me...

Sounds quite different to the response they sent you but then I emailed them a few days ago asking about the Star Wars Trilogy and got a response that it was out of stock and should be back instock within 28 days, how can it be out of stock when its not released until next monday lol

That's BS. this hasn't been announced yet so they can't have sold out of an item they don't have the UPC code for.. DOH..

That's a new one on me.. sold out of something what isn't out until December..bearing in mind it's not limited..

Got another email from Play last night. The gist of it was that they where asked to remove it from their site and put it back on closer to the release date.
