I have recently purchased a couple of Sharp LCDs, the 22" widescreen and the E series 15". As is usual with me, I have now started reading up on LCDs, I always do things back to front. Anyway, after looking around and reading all the posts I can find here, I've got a query regarding resolution. Now the Sharp sets are not the highest rez screens by a long chalk, and according to a few posts here , with only 640x480 pixels, they down-rez PAL material which has 576 active lines/pixels. But surely it's not as simple as that? Since most PAL stuff is interlaced, which of course reduces resolution, and all images displayed on an LCD are progressive, which has more resolution, then things will be, if not equal, then in the LCDs favour. I'm probably missing something and being a bit dim, but can anyone enlighten me?
