Can anyone offer advice on the best Resident Evil to get? Without starting a big argument over DD5.1 v DTS I personally prefer DTS and so would like this on the disk. However I am also keen to get some extras - i.e. I don't want the Superbit. Do any of the current versions fulfill this requirement? I read ages ago a Special Edition was planned - anyone know if it's still in the works?

    Cheers

    Well I have the solution:

That version is the belgian version(I paid 12quid). It has DD5.1 448Kbps in english, DTS FULL BITRATE in english and also a dub in french. The french subs are optional!
It also has the commentary from R1 and on disc 2 are the other extras from R1. Now I can't find that version on the net BUT. I found this one:

    Resident evil DVDzone2

It is the dutch version from Universal. Universal have no imposed subs (I have a few dutch Universal discs)
It seems to have all the extras.
Not sure if DTS is fullbitrate though.

Having read that a directors cut is in the works i decided why waste money on 2 versions i'm simply holding back and will wait for that version to be released cos i'm sick of buying 2 or 3 different versions of the same film, but if u must buy id say go superbit its a false ecomony to buy the cheaper special edition if all u want is the best picture and sound and yes u will notice a difference even on a 28inch set
