At the hut.com cheapest i have seen
Based on the poor demo i wouldn't waste your money...
Each to their own, I loved it.
They also have the standard edition at £33.73 which is a good price. The Hut.com: Resident Evil 5 Xbox 360
Don't forget quidco if you have an account, think they give 5% on The Hut
I found the demo pretty hard, although I've only ever played RE on the wii.
Same scenario as always, we need more ammo!
I'd pre-ordered the steelbook from Amazon for £39.99.
Play the demo before ordering this one. I did and have now cancelled my pre-order.
It's made no progress since the original PSOne game. Can't move and shoot, can't melee while moving. Selecting a green herb to heal yourself using the 'quick' d-pad only provides the option to equip it or give it to Sheeva so you have to go through the menu system to use a health pack. Honestly, this was as bad as Sonic Unleashed!!!
Played the demo after hearing all the negative feedback. The games engine doesn't seem to have made any advancements.
Might still pick it up when its cheaper.
Although I certainly won't be buying the tacky metal tin edition.
The demo is great. Can't wait for the full game.
I loved RE4 and I can't wait for this to come out. I'm gutted that we don't get any Collector's Edition that is anywhere near as cool as the Japanese one. Oh well, the standard edition it is.
I still don't understand why so many people want Resident Evil to turn into generic run'n'gun shooters. There are plenty of those out - I personally think the controls add a feeling of weight to the weapons and characters. There were a few bugs in the demo, but hopefully that'll be sorted by the 13th March.
Limited Edition version is £39.96 from Amazon. Think I will pre-order with them until I see it cheaper (I know TheHut is 23p cheaper but have never used them)
I'd ordered the US Collector's Edition ($110 inc courier shipping), have a look for that as it's a lot better than the UK one. Cancelled that now though, that shows how much I had anticipated this game and how disappointed the demo made me.
I'm going to try it again, after Supernatural.
EDIT: Tried it again and enjoyed it more, but I'm still not convinced enough to place that order for the US one again.
My problem with Resi 5 is twofold, it's difficult and twitchy to control without the wii controls of Resi 4. And, it's barely changed since Resi 4.
Shoe-horning in the co-op aspect was annoying in the demo because the stupid woman ran out of ammo, then did nothing about it despite there being ammo scattered all over the room. I want to blast zombies, not babysit bad AI.
Still, on topic, not a bad price but is the £6-£7 extra worth it for a metal case?
