Does anyone know how to clear all the settings on a Harmony 885? I'm sending mine back to CCL and thought I'd better wipe it clean first if I can.

okay, packed up and sent (didn't bother flashing it in the end).

apart from one of the lcd buttons not working properly (had to press really hard to get it to work), i was disappointed with the ergonomics.

    specifically.

    • the 2 button action to change activity
    • the same-ness of the buttons which made it difficult to act by touch
    • the random arrangement of lcd custom buttons

and of course the charger which would randomly decide to stop/start charging in the middle of the night with accompanying beeps.

however, I love the AV control and finally got my web setup right which is why i've bought the 688 which should give me a more similar feel to my beloved tivo remote

thanks for your help horny :D

Unfortunately I think you'll have the same issue with the 688. The 676 probably would have been a better choice.

Possibly. I get the 688 in a few days, so I'll let you know how I get on.

Been using the 688 for a couple of days now. Unfussy and effective. Very happy with it.

czzer, you're right, i'm not quite able to let the fingers do the walking yet, but guess its just like touch typing, got the main buttons down, and that'll do for now :D
