Hi guys, I've just bought a 435FDE and I've noticed that every time I turn the media box off using the button on the front, next time I turn it all back on I have to reset the clock - is this normal? I can't see why they would do this.

Also, in the 4:3 mode the screen has grey bars down the side - is the grey colour normal?? I would have assumed (obviously not knowing anything about these things) that they would want to be black?!?!?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Matt

Yes, that's normal. It's to help prevent the panel from burning black lines. There is an option under 'option' to change it to B&W moving images, that takes a little getting used to though.

Silly question - have you got the media box connected to the aerial?

Mine did this when I had no signal from the aerial, but then when plugged back in the time was automatically updated from the tv signal. Also don't turn the media box off with the front panel switch, just let it go to stand by then turn off at wall.

Actually, yeah - I don't have an aerial because I just use Sky+. Guess it can't sync up the time then! Problem solved.

And you're right Renton, the other side bar choice is just weird.

    Thanks for the two replies.
