OK - as per other thread, having dispelled the theory of the Philips 9986 due to lack of connectivity (I need to play Windows MCE through it at full res / fullscreen) - my other option for sub £2K budget is of Sharp 32GA4E - can anyone confirm if this has XVGA 1366 x 768 for PC input?

And, does anyone know where to get hold of one? ;)

    Hi,

Yes the sharp can do 1360 or 1368 input and display it correctly, details are int this thread.

As for finding one... You might have to search quite a bit as they are rare now, but as I'm currently trying to get a 37" sharp I'll post as soon as i find somewhere with them in stock.

If you have a budget of £2200 then you will find the 37" GA4 or GA3 nore easy to find than a 32" model. Avoid the GA5 as it has no DVI.

does anyone know the difference between the 32GD1E and the 32GA4E?

looking through all threads and web - seems to me not much

as i have said the critical thing for me is running at fullscreen through MCE

also, am i right in thinking that neither of the sharps have standard VGA inputs for the pc as well as the DVI? therefore, if sky are going to use the DVI slot for HDTV next year, then where does the MCE go after that? (apart from in the bin?)

Similar problems are going to be found with nearly all current models. The next generation sets from all the big players should vastly improve the connectivity situation.
