    Hi All,

I’m planning to buy a projector, not for watching high quality DVD’s, but more for watching TV programmes, Video/DVD recordings from TV and possibly internet downloads, all of which may or may not have the highest picture and sound quality.

I think that, under the equation “junk in = junk out”, there’s no point in going to huge expense on this. My budget is in the region of £400/€600 for the projector, and so far, I’ve been thinking the following model could do the job.
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=329957.

    I have 2 questions:
    1. What are peoples thoughts on the above model in terms of achieving my modest expectations. If anyone knows any other models that would suit (and where to buy them), that would be appreciated.

    2. I’m also looking for a small speaker system, a manual projector screen and a ceiling mount. Bearing in mind “Junk In = Junk Out”, can anyone recommend any makes/models that will do the job. Likewise, good value for money places to buy them will also be welcome.

All suggestions or comments will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks In Advance

I'm sure you can find an XGA projector for around that budget.
Was you going for a 4:3 shape screen like your TV or a 16:9 Widescreen version?
The Native 4:3 projectors seem to be cheaper than the dedicated 16:9 but it's all a question of choice.

    Thanks for both replies.

    Found the following BenqW100. http://www.oyyy.co.uk/product.php?xProd=25276.

Possibly a stupid question, but does this projector actually have some form of built in speaker as part of the projector, or do you have to buy a speaker system in order to hear what's being played. (I'm not very technically minded)

Yet again, all help is appreciated.

Projectors built into speakers are never any good. Unless you really don`t give two hoots about sound quality you are going to want a speaker system.

    Thanks for all replies.

Yet again referring to “Junk In = Junk Out”, I'm not too concerned about sound quality. However, I might want something slightly better than a built in speaker. Can anyone recommend a cheap speaker system that would be an improvement on this?

(In a separate matter, does anyone know good value for money places to buy a projector screen and a ceiling mount? I think most electronics websites put large accessory profit margins on these items.)
