I've a Polo GTI through Arval (at the good price :D) and I need to replace the two front tyres :O

Can I choose which tyre I need or should I replace like for like? I can't see anything in the contract but don't want a problem when it goes back in 6 months.

    Thanks :)

Its a grey area as quoted from their return documents.

All Tyres, including any spare must meet minimum uk legal requirements and comply with the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations for tyre type, class*, size and speed rating for the vehicle.

    * EU Tyre labelling regulations effective 1 November 2012 describe the performance of a vehicles tyres according to three factors. Fuel efficiency, vehicle safety, external rolling noise.
Replacement tyres should be in the same class as those which are sold on the new vehicle.

So to me that means they must be same, eg. A, B, 72db

Thanks - I've dropped them a note, I'll probably just get like for like for simplicity - no issues then, even tho the Dunlops I was looking at are better specc'd all round :D

Reponse from Arval if anyone is interested:

    Hello ,

As you are responsible for the Tyres they are no standards as long as the tyres meet the legal requirements.

If you have any questions regarding the above please do not hesitate to contact us.

The important thing is that you have asked them and have a record of the reply. Keep a copy. Then they can't duck and weave later.
